OUR SCHOOL

Elvetun is the only school in our council, Dyrøy.

History:

The school was built in 1955, and the sports hall was built in 1995.

• We have 162 pupils from the first grade to the tenth grade. Our Pupils start school at 6 years old, and finish when they are 16 years old.
• We have a personnel consisting of 23 teachers and 6 other employed.

We have:

• Concert hall – With a scene where the pupils can sing and use it for concerts.
• Sports hall – Here we offer different activities like football, volleyball, badminton and dance. The pupils use the sports hall for gymnastic at school.
• A pool that is 12, 5 metre long and wide. Every Friday evening we have family-swimming and the pool is open for everybody.
• Our teachers are highly educated.
• Good office rooms for the personnel.
• Culture School - Our pupils can learn how to play the piano, keyboard, flute, song and guitar.
• Big school yard and play ground.
• Many computers, Internet and good equipment to the computers.

 Important areas in our school:

• Learning to read and write by using computers.
• Mathematics.
• To get a better cooperation between the school and the pupils parents.
